If you are employed by a health and care organisation in the city, you can access a huge range of different benefits. Alternatively, if you are looking to start your career in health and care in Leeds, all of these benefits will be waiting for you once you join.
The benefits listed on this page do not replace anything offered by your employer; they are additional to those provided by your own organisation. The benefits include access to discount schemes, wellbeing support, financial support and advice, training, and links to local and national organisations which provide information on Leeds-based services, as well as national guidance.

We have worked with NHS Staff Benefits to ensure that their offers are available to anybody employed within the Leeds health and care sector. Over 300 deals and discounts are available, including short breaks, holidays, retailers, beauty and household offers. If you are employed by an NHS organisation, select ‘NHS England (Yorkshire and The Humber)’ as your ‘Health Board’ when you sign up. If you are not employed by an NHS organisation, under ‘Health Board’, select ‘Other’ and type your employer’s name in the box that appears.
Health Service Discounts is for all staff who work in the health service sector, in any role. This includes everyone who works in the NHS, private hospital, agency/bank staff, GP staff, dental practice, pharmacy staff, hospice staff, all retired staff, healthcare volunteers and healthcare related charity staff.
The Blue Light Card costs £4.99 for 24 months. It’s available to emergency services, NHS, social care and armed forces staff (more information on eligibility is noted on their website). Current offers include 10% discount at Asda and Starbucks, as well as a huge range of retail offers.
The VIVUP Lifestyle Savings is free to use and enables you to get discounts on shopping and make savings when you buy home and electronic goods. By using the app to access offers and being a “smart shopper” you can cut costs of everyday spending. This is available to all organisations who are providing services in the adult social care arena in Leeds. A summary of the offer is provided through the link. If you work or volunteer for a charity, you can access a huge range of offers, money-saving deals and vouchers with Charity Worker Discounts, from discount holidays and money off your shopping, to deals on gym memberships, mobile phones, and utilities.
Anybody living in Leeds who is aged 19 to 59 can access a LeedsCard. Costs start at £15 per year and offer significant discounts on attractions, entertainment, shopping, eating and drinking and health and wellbeing in the city.
Under 19? Get caught up in the endless events, activities and things you love across Leeds.
Get extra discounts, VIP experiences, early bird ticketing and competitions with a Breeze Pass for only £5 per year.
Tickets for Good is currently only available to NHS staff, but we are in conversations about widening this to colleagues across the sector. Through Tickets for Good you can access discounted music, theatre, sports, comedy, arts and festival tickets.
Surplus to Purpose is an environmental enterprise which specialises in the interception of surplus food destined for waste. Their Leeds warehouse is open to all, you can fill a box full of surplus food to take home for £12, or get half a box for £6.
St James’s Laser Vision is offering 15% discount for anybody working in the health and care sector in Leeds.
Money Saving Expert is a national webpage that provides updated access to discounts and deals.
This booklet from the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership seeks to provide useful hints and tips on how to save money around the home in terms of energy, bills and shopping.
Money Buddies are the biggest independent Money Advice Service in West Yorkshire, and their aim is to help their clients out of debt and poverty. Whether you’re having difficulty paying a debt, need legal debt advice, or if you’re not sure what to do about your finances, they can help you. Sign up for a free Money Buddies support session using the link below.

Carers Leeds is a single point of access for all carers in the city. This website provides information, advice and support on aspects such as finance and benefits, access to services, respite, holidays, assessments, personal budgets and equipment.
