The Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust is committed to delivering the highest quality and safest treatment and care to every patient, every time. Our staff came together and following a consultation, the Leeds Way Values were implemented. Our values:

Patient-centred – to act compassionately, with empathy and kindness towards those in our care.

Fair – Champion inclusivity by prioritising fairness and equality. To understand the perspective of others, respecting and embracing differences.

Collaborative – We are all one team with a common purpose and value the contribution of others. We work in partnership with our patients, families and carers, our colleagues and other providers.

Accountable – We keep our promises and agree clear expectations and will speak up to respectfully hold ourselves and each other to account.

Empowered – We empower our patient and colleagues to have a voice and make decisions, and are considerate of choices.

From this we created Living The Leeds Way, which is the golden thread that ties all of us working at Leeds Teaching Hospitals together.

As a newly qualified nurse you will receive our trust induction and award winning 12-month preceptorship programme ensuring you receive support and guidance for your transition from student to RN. Whilst waiting for your PIN you will be paid at AFC Band 3.

The newly qualified role is Band 5 on the NHS AFC pay scale, with a starting salary of £29,970

LTHT places the health and well-being of its employees as a high priority. Staff can access the employee assistance program for support services including self-referrals such physiotherapy. Staff are offered a reduced rate gym membership including sessions such as Yoga. The trust also provides salary sacrifice schemes such as car and childcare vouchers.

As a trust we recognise that staff wish to improve their professional development and to have the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience. The trusts internal transfer policy ensures that staff can access opportunities without the need to complete a recruitment process.
