Improving working lives
The Academy will improve workforce mobility, making sure Leeds is the place to work in health and care. We will improve access to the highest quality education, support and development for our current and future workforce. We will recognise the importance and impact of mental health alongside physical health. We will support women in the workplace being a voice for increased visibility and connections across organisational boundaries.
- To improve attraction and retention in the health and care workforce
- To enhance health and wellbeing and reduce sickness absence
- To achieve diversity and inclusion in the workforce
Some of the work taking place
The health and wellbeing of our workforce is vitally important and we are investing so that we can increase citywide capacity for Mental Health First Aid. We are training more staff to be mental health first aiders and forming a citywide network and events for our mental health first aiders.
We are working to bring the leaders of the city’s women’s networks together and using the collaboration to support specific projects linked to our city’s strategic workforce priorities and Leeds Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
