Springboard Women’s Development Programme
This award-winning international programme is a three-month personal and work development initiative aimed at women working in non-managerial roles across the Leeds health and care system.
Women are supported to assess themselves, set goals and develop practical interpersonal skills and the self-confidence necessary to achieve success in their lives.
The course has been designed to provide the inspiration, tools and confidence boost you need to enable you to choose what you want from life, and explains how to make it happen. It’s a fantastic opportunity to take some time to reflect, and make the right decisions for you.
Springboard helps women to shake off the effects of limiting stereotypes in society, and empowers women with the self-belief, assertiveness, helpful contacts and positive thinking to build the life they want, both at work and at home.
During the programme, participants review topics such as:
- Understanding strengths and unlocking potential.
- Building confidence and presenting a positive image.
- Enhancing assertiveness skills.
- Developing greater influencing skills.
- Setting goals and priorities.
- Managing stress.
- Building networks.
- Improving communication skills.
The programme also offers the opportunity to network with other colleagues, and provides opportunities to hear from women from a range of roles and sectors, as they share the challenges they have faced during their personal and professional life.
This programme is fully funded by the Leeds Health and Care Academy, which means that there’s no cost to you or your employer, and we have 20 places available per cohort. In terms of programme delivery, Springboard forms a series of 8 virtual workshops that are accompanied by the Springboard activity book, which includes development tasks to be completed in your own time between workshops. You’ll be working with a group of women supporting and encouraging each other, and have the opportunity to hear from inspiring guest speakers who will share their stories and tips.
To participate, you must be working in the Leeds health and care system in bands 1-6 Agenda for Change, or up to and including PO4 or equivalent in non-managerial roles.
