What is the digital career platform project? 

This is an ambitious partnership project to design, develop and implement a digital career platform with the Leeds health and care system. The digital platform will engage our future workforce to inform, inspire and open doors to health and care careers in Leeds. 

What will the role involve?  

The Development Lead will be responsible for project management and delivery across the full life cycle of the digital career platform project, including:  

  • Managing scoping, insights and communications 
  • Leading the operational delivery of the project
  • Managing external providers and procurement processes
  • Managing project finances, risks and quality
  • Managing the project Steering Group and associated working groups
  • Working with partners and Academy colleagues to embed and connect the project
  • Developing reports, presentations and briefings for a broad range of audiences and stakeholders
  • Line management of a dedicated Development Officer for the project, and matrix management across internal and external colleagues.

What are the key skills and experience for the role? 

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a skilled project manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will:  

  • Have significant experience and expertise in managing complex projects across a range of partners, at a local, regional or national level
  • Be able to work collaboratively across partner organisations and in a matrix management style
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and be able to develop project plans, processes and ways of working
  • Be an expert communicator and be able to adapt their style to a range of audiences
  • Use their initiative and work autonomously to drive progress
  • Be proactive in managing projects and programmes, identifying solutions, managing risk and working with complexity
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and capabilities
  • Evidence the impact of their work through robust evaluation and feedback.  

What is the team like? 

The project team will consist of a dedicated Development Lead and Development Officer, working with a wide range of internal and external colleagues to deliver the project. You’ll sit within the Academy team, who will provide you with the tools, support and connections that you need, to ensure that you can hit the ground running.
