Health and Care Sector Learners Earn Digital Badges

As part of the city’s commitment to inclusive learning, the Leeds Health and Care Partnership is proud to support the Leeds Digital Badge initiative through its Health T-Level and Health and Care Pre-employment programmes. This initiative is part of Leeds: A Learning City, accessed through the Navigatr digital platform and is linked to the city’s health equity strategic priority and Leeds One Workforce workforce priority to narrow inequalities through health, work and skills.

“Digital badges offer an opportunity to connect learning in Leeds and build inclusive learning pathways for all.”
— Martyn Long, Head of Employment and Skills, Leeds City Council

What Are Digital Badges?

Digital badges provide a meaningful way to recognise and showcase the skills, knowledge, and behaviours that learners develop throughout their learning journey. For employers and higher education institutions, badges offer a simple way to verify achievements and understand the capabilities of each learner.

Each badge is aligned to the Leeds Health and Care Partnership’s core values — the 3 Cs:

  • Compassion
  • Coordination
  • Communication

Three Levels of Learning

Learners progress through three badge stages, each representing a deeper level of engagement:

  • Explore – Gaining initial awareness and interest in a new subject
  • Deepen – Developing a solid understanding and growing expertise
  • Apply – Putting knowledge and skills into real-world practice

Integrated Into learning

The Health T-Level badges were co-designed in collaboration with Leeds City College and Notre Dame College and are embedded into the two-year course delivery giving learners an opportunity to be recognised for their development at stages in their education.
