An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Leeds Health and Care Academy and One Workforce as Head of Leeds One Workforce Programme.
This is a key partnership role for the city, acting as a strategic workforce business partner, and leading a small professional team to enable delivery of the One Workforce Programme in collaboration with health and care organisations across Leeds.
In an innovative partnership model, the City Council and NHS organisations across Leeds have come together with the voluntary sector, independent sector and educational partners to develop and support the workforce needed to underpin the Leeds Health and Wellbeing Strategy.
As part of the Academy’s senior leadership team, this role is responsible for co-designing, facilitating, assuring and evaluating a coherent programme of collaborative city-wide projects relating to workforce planning, resourcing, training, diversity and staff experience. Providing professional insight and analysis, the post-holder will maintain strategic focus on the ‘One Workforce’ goal and will work with senior leaders and HR&OD professionals across organisational boundaries to advance effective workforce strategies which realise the city’s shared ambitions; improving health and wellbeing for all and narrowing health inequalities.
The post-holder will identify opportunities, navigate barriers and stimulate partnerships, ensuring compliance with employment law, health and care regulations and partnership governance arrangements. Expertise in strategic workforce management is essential, as is excellent relationship management, but critically the post holder will share the city’s passion to transform health and care for our citizens.
In this role, no two days are the same. Much of the work can be done from home, however it’s not unusual to have a day or two a week in Leeds meeting with the team or with partners for more detailed planning or engagement.
