Launch of the Leeds Health & Care Learning Portal

Our new learning management system, the Leeds Health and Care Learning Portal, is now live and can be accessed by anybody working or volunteering in a health and care role in Leeds.

This exciting new platform opens up access to online learning across health and care organisations in the city and ensures that all staff and volunteers, regardless of employer, can benefit from high quality eLearning – providing a platform for us to develop as one Team Leeds.

The Leeds Health and Care Learning Portal removes organisational boundaries, creating an engaging online space that anybody working in health and care in the city can access, whether you are employed by an NHS Trust, third sector organisation, educational institution, the City Council, a GP surgery, independent care home, or a different health and care team – there is a suite of learning that is free for you to access.

A hub for development outside of any mandatory training, the learning opportunities are structured around the Leeds Health and Care Academy’s four portfolio areas:

Careers & Education

System Leadership, Change and Culture

Digital, Data & Technology

Core Health and Care Skills

Some examples of the learning opportunities available to access on the Portal now are:

  • Better Conversations communication training
  • ‘Facilitating Hybrid Meetings’ and ‘Leading Hybrid Teams’ virtual sessions and pre-learning
  • Citywide Wound Care Education and Pressure Ulcer Prevention eLearning
  • Microsoft Office learning packages

As well as eLearning, you can also sign up to be a Leeds I Care… Ambassador and register your interest for the next Springboard cohort via the portal. We will continue to add new eLearning packages and training opportunities over the coming months, as the platform develops.

To gain access to this unique catalogue of free resources and learning content, you’ll need to register for an account. Once you’ve signed up to the Leeds Health and Care Learning Portal and your account has been activated, you will be able to access the full portfolio of learning opportunities.
