Launch of a new social care research partnership

Leeds Health and Care Academy is proud to be part of Care Work, a new five-year research partnership co-led by the University of Leeds and King’s College London, funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR). This ground-breaking initiative brings together leading researchers, national social care organisations, and local health and care systems to better understand and address the critical challenges facing the adult social care workforce.

This collaboration is a key opportunity for the Leeds Health and Care Partnership to inform evidence-based, practical solutions to long-standing workforce issues. With our city’s unique approach to integrating the health and social care workforce, we are well-placed to provide real-world insights and evidence.

The partnership’s first study will investigate how to attract and retain younger workers in social care, giving us the opportunity to showcase our success, demonstrate impact and build the evidence base to advance our Future Workforce strategic workforce priority.
