Healthier Working Futures

Healthier Working Futures was a programme aimed at engaging and encouraging young people (aged 16-25) living in Leeds to consider a career in health and care.

Although the Healthier Working Futures programme has now finished, we have a range of free downloadable resources intended for use by anyone working with young people around career exploration and professional development.

Introduction to Health and Care Careers – Lesson Plan

This interactive lesson is intended as an introductory overview of the health and care sector, including an explanation of the vast range of roles that are involved in providing health and care support, as well as touching on some of the key values required to work in the sector.

The lesson plan contains approximately two hours of activities, however most activities can be delivered separately and can be scaled up or down depending on participant numbers and time available.

We’ve created a number of print-ready case studies that tell the real-life stories of people who currently work in the health and care sector in Leeds, and showcase a variety of different roles.
